How long you spend in the museum is up to you, but most visitors find 1.5 hours to be sufficient. Known as an inspirational orator, Churchill made powerful speeches during the war and you’ll hear some extracts with iconic phrases such as “we shall fight them on the beaches.” Another highlight of the museum is the original 10 Downing Street door that Churchill walked through after he became prime minister. The site is also home to the Churchill Museum, which uses modern technology and multimedia exhibits to tell the premier’s story from the day he was made prime minister in 1940.
